Vanuatu: Relaxed South Pacific Island Vibes 16–17 January 2025
Vanuatu is a beautiful, laid-back island nation in the South Pacific that perfectly captures that authentic, off-the-beaten-path tropical feel.
Hotel Stay
I stayed at the Ramada Wyndham Resort, a comfortable and well-located hotel that served as an excellent base for my short visit. It offered nice facilities and easy access for exploring the island.
Exploring Vanuatu
Vanuatu is compact enough that you can see the main highlights in just one day. I strongly recommend booking a private guide/driver right from the start. There aren’t many foreigners around, and the distances between attractions make it much more convenient and enjoyable with local knowledge and transport.
Highlights
- Visit to a local coffee and chocolate factory — a tasty and interesting stop where you can learn about production and sample the products.
- Plenty of opportunities to see local animals (including birds, reptiles, and other wildlife typical of the Pacific islands).
The scenery is classic South Pacific — lush greenery, scenic viewpoints, and that relaxed island atmosphere.
Final Thoughts
Even with only one full day, Vanuatu left a very positive impression. It’s not crowded or overly developed, which makes it feel genuine and peaceful. The people are friendly, and the nature is beautiful.
Would I recommend Vanuatu? Yes — especially if you’re island-hopping in the Pacific or looking for a quiet, authentic destination away from mass tourism. One or two nights is enough for the main island. Book a good guide/driver, stay at a solid resort like the Ramada Wyndham, and enjoy the slow pace of life. A lovely, underrated addition to any Pacific adventure.
