El Salvador, famous as the first country in the world to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender, turned out to be a very pleasant and interesting short stop in Central America.
Impressions
I had no safety issues during my visit and found the country surprisingly welcoming. It has a nice, relaxed South American vibe with friendly locals. While it’s still clearly a developing nation, you can feel the slow but positive momentum.
Highlights
- Botanic Garden: A peaceful and well-maintained green space that was perfect for a relaxed walk.
- Beautiful Church: One of the architectural highlights — very photogenic and atmospheric.
- Crypto Beach: The coolest experience! A nice beach where you can actually pay with cryptocurrency — a fun and unique touch that perfectly matches El Salvador’s Bitcoin identity.
Final Thoughts
Even with only two days, El Salvador left a good impression. It’s not yet a fully polished tourist destination, but that’s part of its charm. The combination of nature, culture, and the pioneering crypto spirit makes it feel different from other Central American countries.
Would I recommend El Salvador? Yes — I will definitely come back one day. It’s a great choice for adventurous travelers who want something a bit different. The country is developing, the people are friendly, and places like Crypto Beach give it a unique modern twist. Perfect for a short visit or as part of a bigger Central America trip.
