Seychelles: Tropical Beaches & Island Relaxation 31 March – 03 April 2024

The Seychelles delivered exactly what I was looking for — beautiful beaches, turquoise water, and a peaceful island atmosphere. It’s a classic tropical paradise, though with its own unique character.

Impressions

The islands are full of stunning white-sand beaches and lush greenery. There are many high-quality resorts, which serve as the perfect base for a relaxing holiday. Outside the resorts, infrastructure is quite limited, so most visitors tend to stay within their resort bubble.

One of the nicest touches was seeing turtles in their natural environment — always a special moment.

Day Trip to La Digue

The highlight of my short stay was a full-day boat trip to La Digue. This small island has a lovely, laid-back vibe. I rented a bicycle upon arrival and cycled to the famous beaches — the scenery was beautiful and it felt like a proper island adventure. Highly recommended if you want to see a bit more than your resort.

Final Thoughts

The Seychelles are undeniably beautiful, with crystal-clear water and relaxing resort life. However, I found it not quite as spectacular as the Maldives (my personal benchmark for island paradises). Still, it’s a very solid and enjoyable destination for a beach getaway.

Would I recommend the Seychelles? Yes — especially if you’re looking for a peaceful tropical escape with great beaches and a more relaxed, less commercialized feel than some other destinations. It’s perfect for honeymooners, couples, or anyone wanting to unwind. Three to four days is enough for a short stay, and the boat trip to La Digue is a nice addition. I enjoyed it, even if the Maldives still hold the top spot in my heart.
