The list is not complete 🙂 I will extend it with more useful tips in the future
- Travel light! I travel only with a carry on luggage and a bigger bag. In the carry on I have my clothes (swim pants, jacket, pullover) all clothes for all weather situations and temperatures.
Airport! Try to check in in advance, or at the digital check in counter at the airport to avoid going to the staff check in counter at the airport, where they often check if your luggage is not more than 7kg.
My Travel rules/Strategy for each country I visit: - Have local food – Enjoy the most famous national dishes
- Check before you go the most famous tours/must see spots and make a plan in which order to visit them
- Speak with a local – Ask him: how is life here? What i have to see, try here?
- Go to places where there are just locals and no tourists
- Visit the most important/famous locations in the city center and also on the countryside! Visit always both! City and Countryside, often the Countryside is more beautiful.
- Do Guided Tours. Do the ones which have the most and highest ratings to see the most famous attraction in the country (Getyourguide.com)
- Eat at safe places. Don’t eat all Streetfood! Especially in not developed countries
- Hotel Check. Before travelling check on booking.com what for 5 star hotels are there. If there are no well known chains or brands like four season, hilton, then the country is rather developing then developed. Prepare accordingly. = Bring cash in USD.
- SIM Card: Download the Airalo APP. There you can buy E-SIM Cards for prices of 5-40 USD around with different GB Data Packages. So you have for almost all Countries in the World mobile connection without changing a physical SIM Card.
