Facts & Tips:
• Safety: Very high — I never felt worried at all, even walking alone at night.
• SIM Card: Used Airalo eSIM — worked perfectly.
• Cash or Card: Card is accepted almost everywhere, but still keep some cash with you.
• How many days? 2 nights / 3 days was perfect.
• Getting around: The whole city is very walkable — you can easily discover everything on foot in one day.
• Must try: Local food at La Placinte (cheap & good) and a nicer dinner at Fuior.

I flew with Austrian Airlines from Zurich via Vienna to Chisinau. The Hotel Richmond was excellent — modern, great price, and perfectly located right in the center.
I explored the city by myself on foot. Chisinau is compact and easy to walk around. For food I really liked La Placinte (local and inexpensive) and Fuior for a fancier dinner. In the evening I went to Covor Speakeasy Bar, which felt quite elevated for Moldova.
I also did a 3-hour city tour via GetYourGuide — good way to learn the background and history quickly.
Overall I felt very safe the entire time. A pleasant and surprisingly easy city to visit.
