Zambia: Wildlife at Your Doorstep 19–21 September 2023
Zambia offered me one of the most relaxed yet authentic wildlife experiences I’ve had in Africa.
Hotel Stay
I stayed at the Radisson Blu Mosi-oa-Tunya Resort in Livingstone. The resort is beautifully located right next to the Zambezi River and borders a national park. This unique setting means wildlife roams freely around the property and even along regular roads.
Highlights
What made this stay special was the effortless wildlife viewing. I didn’t join any organized tours — I simply relaxed at the hotel. Every day I would see elephants, warthogs (wild pigs), and other animals casually walking by, just like you’d expect in a safari park or zoo. It felt incredibly natural and exciting.
The surroundings are full of lush nature, and the proximity to Victoria Falls (just across the border in Zimbabwe) adds to the appeal.
Final Thoughts
Even with only three relaxed days, Zambia left a strong impression. The combination of comfort at the Radisson Blu and wild animals appearing right in front of you creates a very special atmosphere. It’s raw African nature without needing to chase it.
Would I recommend Zambia? Yes — especially the Livingstone area. It’s perfect for a relaxed wildlife experience mixed with comfort. I will definitely come back one day to explore more of the country and its famous national parks.
A short but memorable stay surrounded by nature.
